Ms Smitha Matai is a seasoned educator, trainer, and author with over 25 years of experience in the field of education. Currently serving as the Central Manager – Training at Orient BlackSwan Publication, she has conducted impactful teacher training sessions across India and internationally in Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Japan, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.
She holds dual Master’s degrees in English Literature and History from Mumbai University, and has been conferred with an honorary doctorate by the University of Theophany. Over the years, Smitha has played diverse roles—from teacher and subject head to principal, curriculum designer, and research associate.
Her contributions to education include co-authoring an English Grammar book for middle schoolers, a Map Book for Maharashtra State Board, and editing work for Cambridge History textbooks, educator journals, and a career guidance magazine for Class X students.
In this session, Smitha brings her rich experience to demonstrate how gamification can transform Social Studies—making it interactive, engaging, and deeply memorable for learners.
