Online Masterclass – Image of a Child
Image of a Child
Online Masterclass
Every teaching choice begins with how we see the child.
This masterclass invites educators to thoughtfully examine their beliefs, assumptions, and biases about children, and understand how these perspectives shape everyday classroom practices. Grounded in the Reggio Emilia approach, the session explores the image of the child as competent, capable, curious, and an active co-constructor of knowledge.
Participants will engage with practical, classroom-ready strategies that honour children’s agency and voice, including:
-
Designing intentional provocations
-
Creating purposeful and responsive learning environments
-
Using respectful and empowering language
-
Practising meaningful documentation to make learning visible
Through reflection and discussion, educators will connect theory to practice and identify specific, actionable steps they can implement immediately in their own settings. The session supports a conscious shift in both mindset and practice, helping educators actively apply a Reggio-inspired image of the child in their daily work.
